With the start of the 2016 Formula Drift Season among us, the action kicks off this weekend in Long Beach, California on the renowned Grand Prix Street Circuit where drivers will be hitting turns 9, 10, and 11 of the course. Konig sponsored Pro Driver Pat Mordaunt will be unleashing fury in his Nissan 350z running Konig Hypergram wheels and the freshly wrapped Falken Tire livery.

Pasmag offers tips on sponsorships

Micky Slinger of PASMAG sat down with Brian Fox of Fox Marketing to clear the air on getting sponsored.

For decades Konig Wheels has sponsored individuals and their rides.  Understanding the business aspect when it comes to approaching a company about a sponsorship is crucial.  Companies can not sponsor you because you have a great looking vehicle alone.  They are exchanging exposure and other tangible elements, with you, for their product.  Sponsorship is essentially a extremely delicate barter of sorts.

“Have the mindset of talking partnerships, NOT sponsorship, there is a difference.”

Partnerships was one of the talking points that stands out in this article, which at Konig Wheels cannot be stressed enough how important the focus on relationships are. Regardless of your ride, taste, or funds, the dedication to working together for the exposure that benefits both sides of the “partnership” is what gets noticed and ultimately gets you sponsored.

Enjuku Racing Hypergram Test Fit

Formula Drift and Enjuku Racing driver Nate Hamilton had the opportunity to test fit some Konig Wheels on his demo car for the upcoming 2016 FD season. Nate will be running Konig Hypergram Flow Formed wheels on his Enjuku Racing drift car at  17×9 in the front and 18×9.5 in the rear.

Final Drive TV at USTCC Thunderhill

Gogogear.com President Ali Arsham and his UTI/Konig Wheels Hyundai Genesis Coupe battled it out back in November 2015 in the last race of the USTCC season at Thunderhill Raceway. Final Drive picked up the event in their recently released Episode 47 of Final Drive TV. Ali Arsham has been featured as a Face Of Konig a while back for his contribution to the motorsports & road racing community.  He currently runs the Konig Integram, which is Flow Formed, on his racecar.

Whats so interesting to watch in this episode is how more then a few USTCC racers run Konig Flow Formed product on the track and have for years!  Drivers like Michael McCulligan, the guys from Life’s Good Racing and a few others push their Konig product harder then most others will ever do!   Konig’s Flow Formed Line Up is a very popular choice amongst road racers & weekend autocross enthusiasts alike.   The product is extremely affordable and has an extremely high level of quality that is perfect for the street or the intense abuse of track conditions.
