Behind The Wheel Podcast: – EP10- Faruk Kugay

Faruk Kugay, Formula Drift Pro drive, came on the podcast to give some major announcements. One of them, (not hard to figure out) is that he has now partnered up with Konig. But the second announcement will shock most of his fans!

This is a really great episode of the podcast and Faruk is a lot of fun to listen to. Scott and Faruk go through the ins and outs of having a professional program, his personal evolution in drifting and what it takes to run a program. Faruk is super down to earth and reveals so many things about himself, how he funds his program working 4 jobs (bet you won’t guess what they are), his most frustrating issues with his program and how he plans to move forward.

If you’re not a Faruk Kugay drift fan, you will be by the end!

By the way, PODCAST listeners will get the scoop on his major announcements before the YouTube viewers. We will be releasing the podcast on our YouTube channel in 5 parts starting today at 5 pm. We will be releasing another part of this podcast every day until the conclusion.

We will update this page below! Part 3 is the Konig announcement and Part 4 is Faruk’s major announcement. That will be live on Monday at 8 am EST (on YouTube).

Thanks for all of your support and listening!

Adam Roberts wins SCCA Runoffs at Indianapolis Motor Speedway!

**** GUEST BLOG – BY ADAM ROBERTS****

2017 SCCA RUNOFFS AT INDIANAPOLIS MOTOR SPEEDWAY | SEP 28TH & OCT 9TH

This Guest Blog is written by Adam Roberts. Adam messaged us to tell us about his experience at an event. We love receiving all of the stories we receive of Konig wheels in use. Adam talks about his win, and issue he ran into and his thoughts on the Flow Formed Konig Dial-In. We thank Adam for sending in this write up but also for his support!

*****************

Quick little intro about myself, I started racing in NASA and SCCA racing at the beginning of 2016.  I formerly raced Carts and Legends Cars.  This year was my 2nd SCCA National Championship Runoffs.  I also Race my personally owned Spec Miata.

We qualified on pole for this years Runoffs at Indianapolis Motor Speedway.  Coming to the Green Flag the driver on outside of me (2nd place) made contact with my left rear wheel.  Unknown to myself and my crew, one of the spokes on my wheel had broken from the impact of the other vehicle directly to the wheel.  The other driver suffered a flat tire.

I fell to as low as 3rd place and three seconds back from leader. But I kept my head down, pumped out some great laps in traffic and capitalized on a mistake to take the lead. For the last 5 laps myself and Eric Kutil went side by side, bumper to bumper for a epic last 5 lap shootout for the Win.  I was able to hold off Eric for the Win.

The damaged wheel survived 40 minutes of side by side, curb hopping, racing.  I can’t be more thankful to KONIG for the great product they have manufactured.  It not only brought me my first National Championship but most importantly myself, and all other competitors that were with me on track are safe because it held together.

I not only finished the entire 40 minutes of the race but we won the largest amateur racing event of the year!  Over 1,000 competitors attended and over 5,000 visitors attended.

Adam Roberts was running the Flow Formed Konig Dial-in in 15×7 w/ et 35mm offset all around. The Konig Dial-in is Flow Formed.
